As the fight against crime and social vices continues in the country, the bodies involved in the fight are at thier best putting the perpetrators to book.
On the news today, the economic and financial crime commission, Makurdi zonal office on Monday secured the conviction of a man Orhena Bartholomew for refusal to refund the money mistakenly transferred to him.
It happened that the Mr Orhena wanted to transfer the sum of one thousand naira to his friend in Lagos through first monie transfer but the first monie agent mistakenly transferred hundred thousand naira to Orhena's friends account. The agent however contacted Orhena immediately and begged him to transfer the ninety nine thousand naira balance back but Orhena declined and rather told the agent that he is already on his way to Lagos to spend the money. It was later discovered that Orhena friend found out about the mistake and transferred the balance back to Orhena's account but instead of the young man to transfer the money back to the agent, he rather put the money to his own personal use by getting a motorcycle for himself before he was later apprehended and charged to court where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
