The current deputy Senate president of the country and also the senator representing Enugu west senatorial zone in the national assembly senator ike ekweremmadu has been declared the winner of the zone senatorial elections once again by the independent national electoral commission.

This will make it his fifth term in the sit making him the first senator to win the position five times in the country.

Sen ike ekweremmadu of the peoples Democratic party PDP polled 86,088 votes in total to defeat his closest rival Mrs joy ibekaku nwagwu of the all progressive Congress APC who polled a total of 15,187 votes. The serving thanked the people of his geo political zone and said that he is overwhelmed with the results,he assured them of quality representation and promised to repay them for the trust they have in him.
