Before the ceremony on October 30 in Paris, the shortlist for the most prestigious individual award in world football has been made public.
The Ballon d'Or Whether you love it or hate it, it is the prize that every football player in the world hopes to one day win. And now, following a noteworthy and original 2022–23 campaign, the 2023 Golden Ball shortlist of nominees has been revealed.
Karim Benzema won the award in 2022, but this year's list of contenders includes a number of other well-known players whose accomplishments at both the club and international levels, as well as the 2022 World Cup, have been taken into consideration.
We will have to wait until the ceremony in Paris on Monday, October 30 to find out, but for now, here are the players who have been shortlisted for football's ultimate individual honor:
