Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United star, has pushed Kylian Mbappe to join a team that can win the Champions League trophy in the near future.
According to Ferdinand, Mbappe must convince himself that it is his moment to win the Ballon d'Or by joining a team capable of winning the Champions League, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo no longer able to monopolize the famous individual prize.
Mbappe's current PSG contract runs out at the conclusion of the season.
The World Cup winner from France is expected to join Real Madrid this summer.
In an interview with Canal Football Club, Ferdinand discussed what Mbappe, 23, should do with his future.
“If I were him, I would go to where I think I can win the Champions League." Right now, it doesn’t seem possible at PSG, "Ferdin said.
“Because for me, they had their best chances in the last three years. And they failed at a crucial moment. At this level, choices are not dictated by money.
“He must choose where he can be the best Kylian Mbappé. If he thinks he can be at PSG, okay.”
He added, “But the real question for him is where can he get the best out of himself? To win and grow to become the best player.
“Messi and Ronaldo will no longer monopolize the Ballon d’Or. Who will take over? He has to convince himself that it is his turn.”
