Gianluigi Buffon has been named one of the five best goalkeepers in world football.
The Italian, however, made two major omissions in the form of the Brazilian duo, Alisson Becker of Liverpool and Ederson of Manchester City.
The legendary Italian goalkeeper, who spoke at an event organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport, picked Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid as the current best goalkeeper in the world.
He named Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma as his second choice.
According to Buffon, Germany’s Manuel Neuer is the third best goalkeeper on the planet, while Atletico Madrid’s Slovenian star, Jan Oblak, was named the fourth.
The multiple title winner named AC Milan’s Mike Maignan in fifth place.
Buffon, who is currently plying his trade with Serie B side Parma, made a record 685 appearances for Juventus, winning ten Serie A titles.
