Edouard Romeu, vice president of Barcelona’s economic area, spoke on the 'Esport 3’ programme for 'Onze’, and explained the economic situation of the club.

He assured us that “there will be money to make signings” and that he is not happy about the “selling of TV rights”.

Barcelona are not in the best of financial situations. Los Azulgranas need liquidity in order to facilitate new signings this summer, and the club are putting a strict economic plan in place to make this happen.

Edouard Romeu, vice president of Barcelona’s economic area, appeared on the 'Esport 3’ programme for 'Onze’, and spoke on one of the main concerns for Barca fans at this moment in time: if the club will have the money to bolster the squad during the current transfer window.

“The most important thing is to have balance. We can’t go crazy again. If we do the work we need to, we will have the money there to inject into the squad and attempt to meet people’s demands. "That said, I repeat, we’re always looking in the rear-view mirror and clarifying our priorities," he assured.

Romeu also spoke on the Frenkie de Jong situation, a player who is on Manchester United’s radar and who, after the recent Netherlands-Wales match, expressed his commitment to Barca. “The club’s income forecasts do not include the sale of any player." If it happens, it will be for technical reasons”.

The financial vice president also expressed how he is not happy with the “selling of TV rights” and confirmed that the club will be asking for a further reduction in squad wages on an individual basis. “I have a very close relationship with Gerard." Pique has always cooperated and I’m sure he will again, "he concluded.
