According to the UK Mirror, VAR officials determined that Marcel Sabitzer, a midfielder on loan from Manchester United, did not make his tackle against Leicester City with enough force or momentum to warrant a red card.
Sabitzer only relocated from Bayern Munich to Old Trafford in January.
The midfielder's entry came just in time for Casemiro to receive a three-match suspension for receiving a red card against Crystal Palace.
Sabitzer, however, was fortunate to avoid a suspension following a rough-looking tackle on Fox's defender, Wout Faes.
Marcus Rashford had just given the home team the lead when the incident took place in the waning seconds of the first half.
If referee Stuart Attwell had used his red card during the first half, the good 45 minutes would have been compromised.
