The English Premier League (EPL) expressed its sorrow over Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II's passing on Thursday night.



The English top division league expressed its condolences to the Royal Family and everyone else mourning the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in a tweet sent via the EPL's official Twitter account.

The Premier League is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family and everyone around the world mourning the loss of Her Majesty,” EPL tweeted.

Naijacrawl reports that the monarch’s death was announced by the Royal Family on Thursday.

Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at the age of 96 at Balmoral.

Her eldest son, Charles, 73, succeeds the Queen as king with immediate effect.
