The final decision of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag on stripping Bruno Fernandes of the club’s captaincy has been revealed.
There have been calls for the captaincy to be removed from the midfielder following his embarrassing display against Liverpool on Sunday, but The Sun reports that there are ‘no plans’ by Ten Hag to strip the Portuguese of the armband.
The Portugal international has been the club’s captain for much of the season, despite Harry Maguire’s continued absence from the side.
Fernandes pushed the assistant referee, held his face after being caught in the chest by Ibrahima Konate, and gestured to come off the field after Liverpool scored their sixth goal in their 7-0 demolition of Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
The Sun says Ten Hag has no plans to take the armband off Fernandes, and the midfielder still retains his faith.
