Alisson Becker, Liverpool's goalkeeper, has revealed why he was able to save penalty penalties from Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount in their 6-5 FA Cup final win over Chelsea on Saturday.
Liverpool won their second title of the season at the cost of Chelsea, defeating them in a Carabao Cup penalty shootout in February.
Alisson saved penalties from Azpilicueta and Mount to give his team their second domestic prize of the season and boost their quadruple prospects.
"Wasn't it fun? All goalkeeper coaches assist me in making decisions. They are outstanding players, and Chelsea performed admirably, but we deserved to win. I only save because we deserved it.
“This gives us more confidence in the Premier League and also the Champions League final. It’s a fantastic moment now, we just need to enjoy
“It’s amazing, we did such a good performance. It was a shame we didn’t score. It was a proper fight, we kept a clean sheet, and then afterwards the boys were unbelievable scoring the goals. I just had to save the last one.
“I am so happy. Myself and also Mendy did amazing saves. I couldn’t have done the saves without the help of the team. They work well and make it easier for me.”
