Gameweek 37 of the Fantasy Premier League is the last double-gameweek of the season, with all of Everton, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and Burnley playing twice each, and the other teams playing once, while Manchester United doesn’t play at all.

As the chips have fallen this season, there’s expected to be a high majority of managers looking to deploy their free hit chip this week, with the teams that double as NOT having the best fixtures in GW38, making them ripe for a one-week pick.

So let’s look into the team I’m picking for Free Hit Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 37 and discuss other options below.

Goalkeeper

My pick:

Jordan Pickford (4.8m)

The Everton stopper combines a high number of saves per game with decent bonus potential and two home fixtures for an Everton side who are fighting for Premier League survival. A solid pick at a good price.

Other options

Emiliano Martinez (5.5m) – The Villa stopper has made 20 saves in his last 7 games and has the pedigree of attractive bonus points, giving him a differential haul appeal ahead of 2 decent fixtures.

Kasper Schmeichel (5.0m) – An everpresent in a Leicester line-up that’s been seeing a lot of rotation. While their defence hasn’t been the best, Schmeichel tends to make a good number of saves and has a higher baseline bonus than the Leicester defenders, meaning if he keeps a clean sheet in any of the two fixtures, he’d be in a good position to get bonus points too.

Vincent Guiata (4.6m): While Crystal Palace have the best underlying defensive numbers of all the teams that double, random benchings for him make him a no-go in my opinion.
