Everton manager Frank Lampard claimed the crowd's backing encouraged his team to overcome Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Everton were able to put their midweek loss to Burnley behind them on Saturday afternoon as they stood firm and defeated Manchester United.

Lampard also stated that now was not the time for the Toffees to play beautiful football, but rather to struggle and avoid relegation.

Everton's Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the 27th minute, and Raff Rangnick's team failed to respond.

"We've done well at Goodison." At home, we're getting new sheets. It is difficult to beat us here when we gather together with our fans and players.
“The crowd were great, but they could switch off if they saw people not working. When you are not at your best, you have to fight through it.
Beautiful football can come later on. But in the position we are in, fighting comes first and foremost.
