Silly – Hasselbaink reveals why Arsenal defeated Chelsea 1-0
Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has blamed individual errors for Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The former Premier League striker described the loss as silly after Chelsea players watched transfixed as Bukayo Saka’s corner was almost going in before Gabriel’s tap-in.
It was Chelsea’s fourth defeat of the season and took them out of the top four, while Arsenal returned to the top of the league with the win.
Spanish defender Marc Cucurella has been blamed for the goal as he could only stand behind a player and watch the ball travel through.
“Just an individual error." Just silly But overall Arsenal were so much better. The energy levels were not right. "There were no forward advances for Chelsea,” Hasselbaink said on Premier League Productions.
“Arsenal deserves to win as much as it hurts me to say it." They deserve to win. They’re playing very good football.
“And for Chelsea, they found themselves in a very difficult time at the moment.”
