Al-Nassr legend Hussein Abdulghani has made a U-turn on his previous comment condemning the coming of Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia.
In his earlier assessment of the 38-year-old Portuguese icon when he joined Al Ahly, the legendary player said the Portuguese would not be useful to the club.
However, the football star has now said his previous claim was wrong.
Al-Nassr signed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in November last year after his fallout with Manchester United, and the move was viewed as a massive coup for Saudi Arabia as a whole.
Al-Tai FC chief Turki Al-Dhabaan recently came up with the view that Ronaldo’s presence in Saudi Arabia has made transfer negotiations easier for other clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
In December, Hussein Abdulghani said that the football icon would not benefit Al-Nassr on or off the pitch.
In February, the Al-Aalami legend said that he was not convinced by Ronaldo.
He now appears to have had a change of mind after watching the former Manchester United man score 11 goals and make two assists in nine Saudi Pro League games.
“The legend Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, and the idea (of my previous comments) was that he would lose passion with Al-Nassr, but now he has a lot to offer,” he said via mdjralnassr on Twitter.
