According to Sport, an injury to Lionel Messi is what forced him to leave Paris Saint-Germain training this week, not a bust-up with manager Christophe Galtier.

There were speculations on Friday that Messi was unhappy with Galtier’s coaching and left the session early to drive home.

However, it has now emerged that the 35-year-old instead withdrew from training after feeling discomfort in his adductor.

Messi asked to leave early and was granted permission, contrary to claims that he’d been involved in an argument with boss Galtier.

It’s not yet clear whether the Argentina captain’s issue will rule him out of PSG’s home game against Stade Rennais on Sunday.
