After failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup on Tuesday, neither a player nor a coach from the Nigerian team talked to reporters.

Following a goalless draw in Kumasi, the Super Eagles needed an outright victory at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja to secure their spot in the tournament.

In front of their home fans, however, they were only able to draw 1-1, with William Troost-penalty Ekong's canceling out Thomas Partey's opener.

As a form of protest, enraged supporters stormed the ground, attacking Ghanaian fans and players and trashing equipment and property.

In addition, no players or even the head coach, Augustine Eguavoen, attended the post-match press conference.

The squad bus remained at the stadium for over two hours after the game had ended.
