Obi disclosed that since the day of his appointment, his only goal has been to return the club to the Nigeria Premier League.
“It is a task we need to accomplish as a team and individually to prove our mettle as committed players and coaches,” Obi begins in a chat with the NNL media.
“I have come a long way with Heartland, and I need to do my best to reposition it. I served as Chief to coaches Fidelis Ilechukwu, Hassan Abdallah, and Erasmus Onuh, and it will be my greatest pleasure to see Heartland back where it should be.
“Our Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has also shown us great love by providing huge support for the team and caring for our welfare.
“So I make bold to say, we are ready to go to Asaba and win the ticket to the NPL.”
Heartland will compete with Sporting Lagos, the Abeokuta Stormers, and FC One Rocket for a place in the Nigeria Premier League next season.
