Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has shared her excitement after making a triumphant return to action following a prolonged injury setback.
Plumptre, who missed the 2024 Paris Olympic Games due to cruciate ligament surgery in April, resumed competitive football with her Saudi club, Al Ittihad, in October.
The former Leicester City star made her much-anticipated return to the Nigerian national team during their recent 2-1 friendly defeat against France's Les Bleues last weekend.
Taking to Facebook, Plumptre reflected on her journey back to fitness, writing, “A long road back but was happy to meet with this bunch again.”
Her return marks a significant milestone in her career, as fans eagerly anticipate her continued contributions to the Super Falcons and her club.
