Former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has slammed PSG for not treating Lionel Messi in a respectful manner.
Tevez, a former teammate of the football icon in Argentina, is unimpressed with the way the former Barcelona superstar was punished for two weeks following an authorized trip to Saudi Arabia.
Tevez said it was clear that the French Ligue 1 champions did not value Messi from the very moment he signed for them on a free transfer back in the summer of 2021.
The former Manchester United attacker wants the Parisians to apologize to the football great instead of the other way around.
Messi has since apologized to the club and their fans over his behavior and given reasons for his action, but Tevez feels this should not be the case.
Speaking to TyC Sports, Carlos Tevez was quoted as saying, “I think Messi gives us all a humbling blow. Because if you told me, when I was world champion, that I had to apologize for going on a trip when I had a day off, I’d go back to Rosario and stay there drinking, mate. You’d have to apologize to me!
“Then we can say a lot of things about a club that didn’t really look after him. From the first moment he arrived, they didn’t look after him. That’s how it is.”
