Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric is set to hold talks with Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia ahead of a potential move to the Saudi Pro League (SPL.
Modric traveled to Saudi Arabia this weekend to hold talks with the club as he hopes to reunite with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Arab outlet Al-Weem reports that Al Nassr wants to bring the Croatian midfielder, who joined Real Madrid from Tottenham for €35 million in 2012, to the Middle East.
Modric has since established himself as one of the best midfielders of his generation, winning 22 trophies with Los Blancos and even claiming the Ballon d’Or once.
Croatia International’s contract with Real Madrid will end in the summer, and both parties are yet to reach an agreement over a new deal.
There are doubts about the midfielder’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu, with reports about his possible move to the SPL now making the rounds.
Although the 37-year-old prefers to end his career at the Santiago Bernabeu, there have been suggestions that he’s open to a reunion with Ronaldo.
It has now emerged that the Croatian is expected in Saudi Arabia to hold talks with Al-Aalami over a potential transfer.
Modric will hold negotiations with Al-Nassr this weekend. His willingness to travel to the country appears to be a sign that he’s prepared to join the Riyadh-based club.
