Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that the club will hold talks with midfielder Saul Niguez about his future at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Niguez is presently on loan from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea.
Since joining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last year, the Spaniard has failed to impress.
Niguez has fallen down Tuchel's pecking order, making only one appearance since March 10.
Many media reports have claimed that the 27-year-old would not be offered a permanent transfer to Chelsea, and many are wondering what Tuchel will decide about his future at the West London club.
“We will talk about it at the end of the season,” Tuchel was quoted by Football London as saying when asked about Saul’s future at the club on Sunday.
At the moment, it’s a difficult situation for him personally, but I like that he still gives his input.
It’s like this in team sports that even if it doesn’t make you happy – and I am sure he is not – he’s still positive and still pushing. He takes care of the quality of training with the group that doesn’t play so much.
I don’t have a lot of good news for him when I tell him the starting line-up. But he needs to stay involved mentally and physically. That is what he does, although it’s not easy, "he added.
