Arsenal has explained why their manager, Mikel Arteta, has had his contract extended.
Arsenal confirmed on Friday that Arteta had signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
Josh Kroenke, CEO of Arsenal owners Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, said the Gunners extended Arteta's contract because the Spaniard's devotion and passion are obvious to all, and that he will back Arsenal to fight for the game's biggest prizes.
Kroenke told the club’s website: “My father and I are delighted to have extended both Mikel’s and Jonas’ contracts. It provides future stability and clarity, allowing us to work together more successfully.
“Mikel’s commitment and passion are clear for everyone to see.
“We are confident that as we move forward, he will get us back to competing for the top trophies in the game.”
