There has been constant comparison between the two greatest football stars, Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.



It's of many football pundits and coaches that the later is the greatest, while some think otherwise. This rivalry has involve the two player's club, Barcelona and Real Madrid, country and fans. Although, the two players have 5 Balon D'or each and one of the two will be looking forward to adding another to his cabinet.

Both Ronaldo and Messi has been in fantastic form this season and they have trophies to show for it. Messi winning pichichi, LA liga and copa Del rey, while Ronaldo won the UCL highest goal scorer and the UCL itself. The world cup will probably be the determinant of who'll win the next Balon D'or, as none of the two players have won a World cup, and a world cup trophy will also determine who the Greatest Of All Time ( fondly called GOAT) is.

Ronaldo has showed an extraordinary performance against Spain in Portugal's opening game at the world cup on Friday night, as he singlehandedly let Portugal to a draw. His first goal celebration, many thought is a jibe to his running mate Lionel Messi. After Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal, he put his hand on his chin, trying to indicate beards, which many people see as a sign of portraying he's the GOAT.

This come after picture of Messi circulated online in an Adidas promo photoshoot with a goat, to indicate GOAT as well. Messi will be expected to perform beyond measure in his country's first game against Iceland. These two will forever be rivals and it doesn't seem to be ending soon.
