Jadon Sancho, Chelsea's new winger, has revealed that he was a lifelong Chelsea supporter, thanks to the iconic duo of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
Ahead of Chelsea's Premier League match against Everton this Sunday, Sancho opened up about his childhood admiration for the club and his excitement about joining.
Sancho, who made the move to Chelsea on loan from Manchester United after struggling for regular game time at Old Trafford, said, "It still feels a bit surreal, but it’s great to be home. My family is nearby, which makes it even more special."
The England international went on to share that his admiration for Chelsea grew because of Lampard and Drogba's legendary careers at Stamford Bridge. He added, "I always supported Chelsea as a kid because of Lampard and Drogba, and when I spoke to Enzo Maresca before joining, he was determined to work with me."
Chelsea fans can look forward to seeing Sancho’s talent on the pitch as he joins the ranks of the club's greatest legends, including Lampard and Drogba, who helped bring multiple trophies to the club during their time at Stamford Bridge.
