In a shocking turn of events during Sunday’s Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Inter Milan, the match was suspended after Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed unexpectedly just 16 minutes into the game.

Serie A confirmed to AFP that the match, which was goalless at the time, will be rescheduled at a later, yet-to-be-determined date.

Bove, who is on loan at Fiorentina from Roma, was immediately rushed to Careggi Hospital near the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Reports confirm that he regained consciousness and is now in stable condition, as stated in an official update from the club. The incident drew widespread concern, with teammate David De Gea and others taking to social media to express their well wishes for Bove’s swift recovery.

The sudden collapse left players, officials, and fans in visible distress, some openly sobbing as the medical team worked swiftly. The scene brought back painful memories of Fiorentina’s former captain Davide Astori, who tragically passed away in 2018 due to cardiac arrest.

The incident has united the football community in support of Bove, with fans and players eagerly awaiting further updates on his recovery.
