British broadcaster Piers Morgan has said that Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace against Al Adfalah on Tuesday proves that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag made one of football’s worst blunders.
Ronaldo put in a typically impressive performance as Al Nassr won 5-0.
The Portugal captain joined the Saudi Arabian club in December, after his interview with Morgan, in which he criticized United and Ten Hag.
But now, after a poor outing at the 2022 World Cup and a slow start to his career in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has hit fine form in the Middle East.
The 37-year-old opened the scoring from the spot and added a stunning third goal.
Picking up a pass from Talisca, Ronaldo ran into the box and lashed a left-footer inside the far corner.
Morgan tweeted: “Two more goals for @Cristiano so far tonight, including this superb one, which once again suggests Ten Hag’s decision to dump him for Wout Weghorst was one of the worst in football history.”
