Several players and officials of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Football Club sustained injuries in a road accident on Monday along the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Expressway.



According to reports, the bus driver and a front-seat passenger suffered the most severe injuries. The incident occurred as the team was returning to Ilorin after their match against Sporting Lagos. Thankfully, no lives were lost.

ABS FC’s Media Director, Tosh Michaels, confirmed the crash, while Kwara United FC Chairman, Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, expressed deep sympathy through the club’s General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy. “This is a sad and unfortunate incident. I pray for God’s guidance and protection in all our travels,” Badawiy stated.

ABS FC, a Kwara-based team, is currently competing in the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
