Chuba Akpom has completed his move to Eredivisie giants Ajax.

Akpom, who joined the Amsterdam club from Sky Bet Championship outfit Middlesbrough, penned a five-year contract.

Ajax will pay a transfer fee of €12.3 million plus €2 million in add-ons for the forward.

The 27-year-old was close to sealing a move to RC Lens last week, but the Ligue 1 club pulled out at the last minute.

The Nigerian-born striker was the top scorer in the Championship last season with 28 goals from 38 league appearances.

Akpom will wear jersey number 10 at his new club.

He joined the list of Nigerians, including Finidi George, Kanu Nwankwo, Tijani Babangida, Sunday Oliseh, and Pius Ikedia, who have played for the European champions.
