Chuba Akpom is thrilled to wear the recognizable number 10 for his new team, Ajax.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old's transfer from Middlesbrough of the Sky Bet Championship to the Eredivisie powerhouse was finalized.

In exchange for his services, Ajax paid him €14.3 million, and the striker committed to a five-year deal.

Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten, two legendary Ajax players, once donned the number 10 jersey.

Akpom, who led the Sky Bet Championship in scoring with 28 goals the previous season, is thrilled to continue Cruyff and Van Basten's legacy.

“It is a very great honor to wear this shirt number. To be the number ten of Ajax is a special feeling,” Akpom told the club's website.
“The shirts are very stylish and fit me very well. I think they are both very beautiful.”
