Bayern Munich have opened talks to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for their manager, Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel coached Kepa during his time at Chelsea in the past.
However, Bayern Munich has made the signing of a new goalkeeper one of their top priorities this summer, having recently sold Yann Sommer to Inter Milan.
Bayern Munich’s first-choice goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, is still not close to returning after breaking his leg during a trip last December.
The Bundesliga champions held talks with Brentford keeper David Raya, but the Spain international is now close to joining Arsenal after the Premier League club agreed a £30 million deal for the goalkeeper’s signature on Tuesday.
As a result, Bayern are now searching for alternatives, and according to Sport1, the Bavarians have begun ‘initial talks’ with Chelsea over the possibility of signing Kepa this summer transfer window.
