To replace Wesley Fofana, Leicester has finalized the signing of Wout Faes from Reims.
The 24-year-old defender has committed to the Foxes for five years.
Faes is a professional footballer from Belgium who graduated from Anderlecht's academy.
He joined Reims in 2022 and made 75 appearances for the Ligue One club, scoring five goals.
He was voted the club’s Player of the Season at the end of the last campaign.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Faes said: “It’s an amazing feeling; it’s not sunk in yet." This is the next dream step in my career, and I’m very happy to be here.
I’m progressing year after year, and I hope to continue doing the same here. All the facilities and knowledge are here to help me get even better.
I will have to work hard, but I will give 100 percent to help the team.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT’s Jim White reports that Aston Villa rejected Arsenal’s bid for midfielder Douglas Luiz, saying he was “not for sale.”
Arsenal have made a £20m bid, plus add-ons, as Mikel Arteta wants to add depth to his midfield.
Recent injuries to Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey have accelerated their needs, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is heading to Southampton.
But the Gunners face a fight to convince Villa to part with Luiz.
