Sky Bet Championship side Watford has set its sights on Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, offering a short-term loan deal to bolster their attack for the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old joined Sevilla last summer, but his stint with the La Liga outfit has been underwhelming. In nine league appearances for the Rojiblancos, Iheanacho is yet to find the back of the net, raising concerns about his form and fitness.
Reports suggest Sevilla is open to letting the former Leicester City star leave during the January transfer window. With Watford keen to secure his services, they’ll be banking on the striker rediscovering the brilliance that defined his Premier League days, where he notched 61 goals and provided 34 assists in 232 games for Leicester City.
The Hornets are hopeful Iheanacho can bring the same spark to Vicarage Road and strengthen their push for promotion.
Stay tuned for updates as Watford looks to finalize this potential game-changing move.
