After the Citizens defeated Sevilla on Wednesday night, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola became the first football manager to win the UEFA Super Cup with three different teams.
Guardiola tied Carlo Ancelotti for the most titles in this competition after winning his fourth European Super Cup.
At the Karaiskakis Stadium, the Spaniard witnessed Manchester City defeat Sevilla 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
Thanks to goals from Youssef En-Nesyri and Cole Palmer, the game ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
Man City’s victory over Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup means Guardiola has now won the trophy with the Premier League champions, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Guardiola is widely regarded as one of the best managers of the present generation.
