Joleon Lescott and Rio Ferdinand, both former Premier League players, praised Cole Palmer after Manchester City's UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla on Wednesday.
Following Palmer's goal for Manchester City in their Super Cup victory over Sevilla, Lescott referred to the youngster as "an exceptional talent."
Remember that after a 1-1 draw, Manchester City won the UEFA Super Cup 5-4 on penalties over Sevilla.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Lescott said: ‘There are going to be opportunities when he [Palmer] needs to learn about failing and coming through that adversity and becoming a top professional to match his ability because once he moves those two things together, there will be no stopping him because he is an exceptional talent.”
On his part, Ferdinand praised Palmer’s confidence, saying, “One thing he is not short of is confidence. He has a relaxed approach to the game that only certain individuals can do, and he is doing it at the top level at a club that is competing for trophies.”
