Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that his team failed to beat Real Sociedad in Sunday's 0-0 La Liga draw because luck was not on Los Blancos.

Ancelotti watched as Real Madrid drew goalless against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The result means Real Madrid are now five points behind leaders Barcelona on the La Liga table.

Speaking at his post-match interview, Ancelotti said, “We created a lot of chances to get the goal, but luck was not on our side." "That can happen.”

He added, “It was one of our best performances this season." It was difficult to make substitutions because everyone was playing so well.

Real Madrid will now face Valencia in their next fixture on Thursday.
