Real Madrid is thinking about bringing former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea on board for the upcoming 2024-25 season to strengthen manager Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

De Gea has been without a club since leaving Old Trafford last summer but hasn't retired, showing he still wants to play professionally.

He's well-known for his time at Manchester United, where he played in 545 matches and is highly respected by the fans.

After De Gea left, Manchester United signed Andre Onana as his replacement. But recent reports suggest De Gea was hoping for a return to his homeland club, Real Madrid, especially after Thibaut Courtois got injured at the start of the season.

But instead of signing De Gea, Real Madrid brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea to cover for Courtois. Now, with Kepa heading back to Chelsea and Andriy Lunin looking for more playing time elsewhere, Real Madrid is considering De Gea once again.

Lunin might leave Real Madrid soon as he's attracting interest from other European clubs. So, Real Madrid sees De Gea as a good option because of his experience and availability.

It'll be interesting to see if De Gea ends up joining Real Madrid for the upcoming season.
