Renovation work has commenced at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The ground is the home venue of Nigeria Premier Football League outfit Lobi Stars.
The contract signing agreement between the Benue State Government and the contractor handling the project, Michelle Sports Constructions Limited
took place last week.
The Daily Post reports that the dilapidated artificial turf on the pitch and other particles have been removed.
It will be replaced by new modern and advanced synthetic turf.
Lobi Stars currently play their home games at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.
The Pride of Benue are expected to return to Makurdi before the end of the current campaign.
