But first thing first, what do you want to do with the skill you want to learn?? you need to have a project in mind as it will help make learning easier, i have seen alot of people who complain that they don't know what to make with the computer skill they learned.If you have a project in mind, you will channel your effort in learning how to build the project.

so here are the five most recommended platforms to learn web development or programming


5 - code academy:Codecademy is an online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 differentprogramming languages including Python , Java ,PHP, JavaScript (jQuery , AngularJS , React.js ), Ruby , SQL , and Sass, as well as markup languages HTML and CSS .I did not learn coding with codeacademy but it got alot of recommendations when i was starting, it has alot of positive reviews too.


4 - zetcode: Zetcode is a free tutorial website for both aspiring, beginners and advanced programmers, it could serve as a starting point or a reference depending on your skill level, zetcode has over 100 tutorials on different programming languages.


3 - coursera: Coursera is free online training platform, think of it as a university on the internet with over 2,000 courses.Coursera partners with top universities like stanford, yale, e.t.c - See coursera partenersuniversities offer to teach students for free (you can pay to get certified).There are thousands of courses on coursera and it does not end just on programming and web development, you can learn engineering, mathmatics and almost everything you learn in the university from coursera, it's free, just register and find your course, you will get both theory and video practicals, tests and quizzes e.t.c.


2 - w3schools: W3schools focuses solely on teaching web development, which is where it got it's name. There are many tutorials like html, css, javascript, sql, asp, php, w3.css, bootsrap, xml and so on.It is very beginner friendly as it go it's popularity from how simple there tutorials are.there is also a web based compiler/interpreter where you can execute your codes and get results automatically without any installation.You can also pay to get certified on html, css, javascript, php, asp, e.t.c.However, their tutorials are so easy it only teaches the basics.w3schools can also act as a good reference.




1 - Tutorialspoint.com: And the first on my list is the undisputable and the number one free tutorial website - TUTORIALSPOINT.This website is where i started my journey as a coder. There are so many tutorials and guides here that you need to focus on only what you came for or you can get overwhelmed.Every tutorial also comes with a free ebook version incase you might want to use it offline.It also has a page called coding ground, this where all thier online compilers are located.You can code, compile and execute with this online compilers/interpreters in over 70 languages including c, c++ and python.There also some helpful guides like "how to write a resume, developers best practices, e.t.c".There are also some academic tutorials like cloud computing, artifial intelligence, antenna theory, e.t.c.


helpful tips:It is in your best interest to always use youtube to find video practicals if in anyway you don't seem to get a hang of what you are doing or reading.
Also, joining communities like stackoverflow, yahoo answers and quora is also recommended, this are mediums where you can get help if you encouter problems.
Also, joining active social groups that is meant specifically for the web development or programming is recommended, here you can get answers in minutes if you have any problems.
