Nollywood veteran Patrick Doyle has taken a strong stance against socialite Sophia Egbueje for flaunting her brand-new Lamborghini, despite the controversy surrounding her alleged relationship with singer Burna Boy.
Social media was set ablaze last week after leaked audio surfaced, in which Sophia accused Burna Boy of failing to keep his promise of buying her a Lamborghini, despite their alleged affair. However, instead of shying away from the controversy, Sophia shocked many by showcasing her new luxury car on social media, boldly claiming she bought it herself after Burna Boy failed to deliver.
Her display of wealth didn’t sit well with Patrick Doyle, who condemned her for parading her expensive lifestyle despite what he called a “shameful means of livelihood.”
Taking to social media, the actor expressed his disappointment, stating:
“She boasted about the value of her wristwatch and flaunted a ₦600 million car. The combined worth of both items is around ₦650 to ₦750 million. Some half-wits were impressed and congratulated her, as if we hadn’t already heard about the disgraceful means through which she acquired them. Meanwhile, I can bet that there are members of her extended family struggling financially. Unfortunately, celebrating immorality has become the norm among certain people.”
Doyle also criticized those who praised Sophia, calling out what he sees as the glorification of questionable wealth.
With the Sophia Egbueje and Burna Boy Lamborghini saga still dominating conversations, opinions remain divided—some defend her right to spend her money however she pleases, while others, like Doyle, argue that the source of wealth matters just as much as the wealth itself.
