President Bola Tinubu has left Nigeria for Paris, France, on a private visit, ahead of his participation in the upcoming African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the trip, noting that Tinubu plans to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron during his stay in France.
While details of the private visit remain under wraps, there is growing speculation that the two leaders will discuss key topics such as strengthening economic partnerships, enhancing trade relations, and fostering deeper diplomatic ties between Nigeria and France.
Following his Paris visit, President Tinubu will head to Addis Ababa for the 46th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State. The summit will take place from February 12 to 16, 2025.
As the current Chairman of ECOWAS, President Tinubu is expected to play a pivotal role in discussions on regional security, economic integration, and political stability, especially given the ongoing political challenges in West Africa.
