During the commissioning of the Guzape Lot II Infrastructure Project in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike praised President Bola Tinubu for his hands-off approach since Wike assumed office last August.
Speaking at the event, Minister Wike emphasized the President's non-interference in his duties. "Since I assumed office on August 21, 2023, you have never once interfered in my work," Wike stated, drawing applause from the audience. "You have never directed me on what to do. Sometimes, I would approach you with concerns, asking if anyone had complained, and you would always reassure me, saying, 'Have I ever called you one day? So don’t bother yourself, go and do your job.'"
Wike expressed his and the Minister of State's gratitude for the autonomy granted by President Tinubu, attributing the successful progress of their work to this freedom. "We are sincerely happy that you gave us the free hand to work, and this is what we are seeing today," he said.
