The Ogun State Police Command has successfully uncovered the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Quadri Salami, a 100-level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The breakthrough came after Quadri's father reported his son missing on November 14, 2023, at Kenta Police station. The distressed father had not seen his son since November 8, despite exhaustive efforts to locate him.

According to a statement by the command's spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, State Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu led a Tactical Squad to Mile 6 in the Ajebo area of Abeokuta. Acting on a tracking clue, the team discovered a shallow grave containing the decomposing body parts of the deceased.

The investigation took a chilling turn when Akeem Usman, arrested in possession of Quadri's phone, pointed to his involvement in the gruesome crime. Akeem implicated Ifadowo Niyi, stating that they had slaughtered Quadri and dismembered his body parts for ritual purposes.

Odutola shared, "He (Akeem) implicated one Ifadowo Niyi that both of them committed the heinous crime by slaughtering the victim (Quadri) and dismembered his vital parts for ritual purposes."

Ifadowo, according to the police spokesperson, took Quadri's head and two wrists, paying one hundred thousand Naira into Akeem Usman's account from the proceeds of selling the body parts. The suspects went on to sell the remaining body parts, including the heart, two legs, and flesh, to internet fraudsters, burying them in a plastic rubber for rituals.

In a shocking revelation, the suspects admitted to using four other human heads for money rituals, known as "Osole." Currently in custody at Eleweran at SCID, the suspects will face further investigations and subsequent prosecution for their heinous crime against humanity.

This tragic incident sheds light on the darker aspects of society and underscores the need for continued vigilance and swift action by law enforcement to protect citizens from such heinous acts.
