Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has launched an ambitious ₦159 billion infrastructure development plan for 2025, focusing on road construction, education, and healthcare to enhance the state's progress.



A Commitment to Development Without Borrowing

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to delivering dividends of democracy despite political challenges. He emphasized that no loans would be taken to finance these projects, ensuring financial stability.

“In line with my promise never to be distracted from my commitment to serve the people, I am unveiling a new set of infrastructure projects that will expand the dividends of democracy across Osun State. Our funding approach relies on allocations from the Federation Account, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and funds reimbursed by the Federal Government,” Adeleke stated.

Osun’s Progress So Far

Governor Adeleke also provided updates on the multi-billion-naira infrastructure plan initiated in December 2023, highlighting major milestones:

  • 150+ kilometers of roads constructed or rehabilitated.
  • 200 primary healthcare centers completed.
  • 99 schools renovated across the state.
  • Ilesa dualisation and Ile-Ife flyover projects at 60% completion.
  • Oke-Fia flyover nearing 90% completion.
  • LAMECO flyover progressing at 50% execution.

He assured the public that these projects will be completed within the fiscal year.

Breakdown of the 2025 Infrastructure Plan

₦101.8 Billion Investment in Roads

The road sector will receive a significant boost, with key projects including:

  • Osogbo-Iwo-Oyo State boundary road – ₦5.94 billion.
  • Osogbo-Ikirun-Kwara State boundary road – ₦13.7 billion.
  • Dualisation of Odo Ori Junction-Post Office Junction-Adeeke Junction – ₦10.42 billion.
  • Dualisation of Ila township road – ₦12.65 billion.
  • Reconstruction of Ijebu-Jesa-Ere-Ilahun-Ibokun road – ₦8.05 billion.
  • Ada-Ibokun-Ilase-Idominasi road project – ₦10.89 billion.
  • Upgrading, lighting, and beautification of roads and roundabouts – ₦5 billion.

₦1.98 Billion for Education

The government is investing in school renovations and new constructions across various districts:

  • Ede High School hall and pavilion renovation – ₦50.2 million.
  • Agbonran School of Science renovation – ₦200 million.
  • Oranmiyan Memorial Grammar School, Ile-Ife – ₦149.5 million.
  • Ogedengbe School of Science, Ilesa – ₦137 million.

₦2.76 Billion for Healthcare

Osun State’s healthcare sector will witness a massive boost with:

  • Complete renovation of 124 primary healthcare centers to improve medical access and service delivery.

Governor Adeleke reassured citizens that no project will be abandoned, emphasizing his administration's focus on quality infrastructure to improve lives.

“We are building a stronger, more prosperous Osun State. These projects mark significant progress in our mission to uplift the state and its people,” he concluded, urging citizens to support the government’s initiatives.

With this ₦159 billion infrastructure plan, Osun State is set for a transformational leap in 2025, ensuring sustainable growth and development.
