The 2023–24 Nigeria National League (NNL) season will kick off in September, the Daily Post reports.
The NNL chairman, George Aluo, disclosed this in a chat with newsmen during the relegation playoffs in Kano.
The Daily Post learned that the league stakeholders will meet later in the month to decide on the format of the league.
The 2022–23 NNL season was played in an abridged league format, with Heartland winning the title in the Championship playoff.
“We congratulate the teams that maintained their stay in the NNL,” Aluo told newsmen at the Mahaha Sports Complex.
“We hope to meet again later in September when the league commences. We say our byes to the relegated teams for better luck next time.”
