Arsenal fans should not look back after ex-manager Unai Emery's victory in the Champions League this season, according to Aston Villa icon Gabriel Agbonlahor.
In 2019, Emery was fired by Arsenal in 2019, and since then, he has led Villarreal to success in their own Spain.
Last season, the Yellow Submarines won the Europa League and are now in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Following Villarreal's triumph over Bayern Munich on Tuesday, many people wondered if Arsenal had fired Emery too soon.
But Gabby Agbonlahor has told talkSPORT that looking back is pointless, claiming that the choice was correct – similar to the decision to axe Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang recently.
"I don't think it was [working with Emery at Arsenal]," Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
I think Arsenal have to forget about the past and focus on what Arteta is doing for Arsenal now.
It’s different circumstances at Villarreal. When he was at Arsenal, it wasn’t working and Arsenal fans couldn’t wait for him to leave. ”
