According to reports, Bayern Munich regrets passing up the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United during the summer.
According to El Nacional, they are currently planning to sign the Portugal international in January.
Throughout the summer, there were many uncertainties regarding the future of the Portugal international at Manchester United.
A number of European clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon, among others, were interested in signing the former Real Madrid and Juventus star.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner ultimately chose to remain at Old Trafford despite Bayern's refusal to sign him.
It was then reported that Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, contacted Bayern Munich’s board in an attempt to secure a move for the Portuguese to the Allianz Arena, but they were put off by the finances involved and the age of Ronaldo.
However, Ronaldo is reportedly still pushing for a departure from Old Trafford and Bayern may be changing their stance on the forward.
A lack of goalscoring potency up front for Julian Nagelsmann’s side is starting to become a worry as they have not won any of their last four outings in the Bundesliga, drawing three and losing once.
There was a belief that the arrival of Sadio Mane from Liverpool would be enough to deal with Lewandowski’s exit.
