Todd Boehly, Chelsea's new co-owner, reportedly became irate after learning that the team missed the chance to sign midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer of 2021, according to Sport.
During Tchounameni's time at Monaco, Chelsea was rumored to be interested in acquiring him.
However, during the summer transfer window this year, the French international joined Real Madrid.
In Real Madrid's nine games so far this season, the 22-year-old star has played for 584 minutes.
Tchounameni has provided two assists for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, fitting in well in the squad following Casemiro’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu to Manchester United.
However, Boehly has found out that Chelsea passed up the opportunity to land Tchouameni last summer for €35 million.
Chelsea’s hierarchy at the time were not sure whether Tchouameni could perform right away in former manager Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
Instead, they opted to sign Saul Niguez on loan from Atletico Madrid.
