Manchester City have entered advanced negotiations to secure the signing of 18-year-old defensive prodigy Vitor Reis from Palmeiras during the January transfer window.
The Premier League champions are eager to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s backline for the remainder of the season. With growing competition, City are reportedly leading the race ahead of Brighton and other suitors for the Brazilian center-back.
According to renowned football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have tabled an initial offer valued at €40 million for Reis. Romano revealed on X:
"Manchester City mission for Vitor Reis, ongoing in Brazil. Even today and in the next hours/days. The 18-year-old Brazilian centre-back is a key target after Brighton and more clubs had bids rejected. Man City are working on it strong, €40m package. Talks on. Deal on."
Reis, a product of Palmeiras' youth academy since the age of 10, made his first-team debut last year and has quickly become one of the standout young talents in Brazil.
