Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has issued a warning to his players about Benfica striker Darwin Nunez ahead of the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday night.
Nunez is a 'great boy,' according to Klopp, who believes it will be difficult for Liverpool to keep him quiet when the two teams meet at Estádio da Luz.
Nunez has scored 27 goals in just 34 games for Jorge Jesus's team this season, in all competitions.
Klopp showered admiration on Nunez during his pre-match press conference.
"He is a good striker," the Reds' manager noted, according to The Hard Tackle. The following one is from Uruguay! I don’t know how they play together, Cavani, Suarez and him, in one team - it is undoubtedly a challenge to put that in place. Top, top boy.”
"Yes, the goals he's scored," he added. Obviously, the one against Ajax in Amsterdam was a huge one, and yes, it was also in the group stage, so he isn't afraid. We expect him to start tomorrow, and we must ensure that he does not receive a lot of balls." "He did not start the last game; he came on at halftime due to returning from international duty, therefore we expect him to start tomorrow."
