Victor Osimhen, a Nigerian striker, has alleged that the Super Eagles were abused by Ghanaian fans in Kumasi.

According to Osimhen, Ghanaian supporters attacked Super Eagles players as the team bus approached the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, yelled at Augustine Eguavoen's men and battered their bus while creating signs.

The Super Eagles were also not allowed to check the surface on the day of the match against Ghana, according to the Napoli forward.

In a 2022 World Cup playoff first leg tie, the Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a 0-0 draw at Kumasi Stadium on Friday night.

"The experience in Ghana is a bit comprehensible owing to the African thing," Osimhen said on Saturday evening after the Super Eagles' recovery practice, "but it was startling when we arrived and we had to jump down and some of us had heavy hand bags which was rather difficult for us."

"It was incredibly funny when I first saw it, but at the end of the day, it was a fantastic experience."

Our hotel was around 25-30 minutes away from the stadium, so when we arrived, there was a huge Ghanaian crowd screaming at us, banging our bus, and making placards.

"We were stuck in traffic for up to 45 minutes before getting to the dressing room, and when we got there, it was only up to 20 minutes, then Yobo came to us and told us we had to leave." We didn't even inspect the pitch as we would on a regular game day, but we are used to such situations and were unconcerned. "It was not at all professional."

The second leg of the match will take place on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
